We are so excited to offer high quality early learning opportunities for the 55th year at Avenue Preschool. Enjoy visiting our website, check out our Facebook page and contact the preschool office with any questions!
Avenue Preschool has been providing high quality early childhood education for children in the surrounding community since 1967. We are a non-denominational preschool, but many of our families attend Avenue United Methodist Church, as we are located in their education wing.
Our program proudly participates in Delaware Stars. This is our state's Quality Rating and Improvement System for early education programs, and it is administered by the Delaware Department of Education. To learn more about Delaware Stars, please visit our "Forms and Links" page.
We serve approximately 100 children ages 3-5 years old.
Our regular program year takes place from September through May and is comprised of 1/2 day classes. We also offer "Lunch Bunch" extended days and 1/2 day Summer Camp options for our students.
Our Pre-K program is for children who turn four by August 31st of the school year and who will enter Kindergarten the following school year. The Pre-K program offers classes five, four, three or two days per week from 9:00-12:00.
The Beginners program is for children who turn three by August 31st of the school year. The Beginners program offers classes three or two days per week from 9:00-12:00.
The Pre-Beginners program is for children who are still two-years old as of August 31st but turn three between September 1st and December 31st of their initial school year at Avenue. This program is offered 2 afternoons per week contingent upon staffing and enrollment.
